ANT+

ANT is a wireless protocol for exchanging data over short distances from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks.

ANT is an ultra low power protocol that is able to operate off of small batteries, such as coin cells.
ANT peripherals typically operate in a broadcast mode that can be received from multiple handsets or displays simultaneously.

ANT+ (built on the base ANT protocol) defines standardized device profiles that specify data formats, channel parameters and network keys. A "profile" defines a specific use case, or data set. The most common ANT+ profile is heart rate (HR), and is used by many heart rate monitors in the market today.
Other examples of ANT+ profiles include:

  • Bicycle Speed & Cadence (S&C)
  • Bicycle Power (PWR)
  • Activity (ACT)
  • Weight Scale (WGT)
  • Blood Pressure (BP)

Also, you can have several sensors work with a single receiving display or have several receiving displays read the information from a single sensor.

ANT+ ensures trouble-free interoperability, allowing ANT+ products by different makers to work together as long as all paired devices support the same profiles (denoted by teh respective ANT+ activity icons).
ANT+ is already integrated into a lot of mobile phones. Here is a list of the ANT+ enabled phones in our specifications database. The list is probably incomplete and we apologise for that. If you know an ANT+ enabled phone, which has not been marked as such in our database, why not send us a tip?

Assigment 2 (Sofskill)

Find the definition of information question (5W+1H), yes/no questions, and tag question ?

Answer :

Information Question (5W+1H)

The questions answered in the lead of a conventional newspaper article: who, what, when, where, why and how. Information questions are also called "Wh-" questions because many of the words that are used to ask this type of question begin with Wh-.

The 5Ws + H formula has been attributed to English rhetorician Thomas Wilson, who introduced the method in his discussion of the "seven circumstances" of medieval rhetoric
To be a journalist 5W 1H is very important, especially to write "lede" (some call it "leads") news, which is a paragraph (or two paragraphs) opening news. In approximately 35-40 words, should insert the 5W 1H. It was in the news writing.

Yes/No Questions

The answers for simple questions in English are "Yes,","No," or "I don't know" (or its equivalent). The answers for information questions are varied--because they are used to ask about specific kinds of information.
There are 2 types of interrogative sentence in English (question words), namely:
a.       The WH question words
b.      Yes or no questions

Yes-no question can be made by changing the declarative sentence (statement). You have to know which one subject, the main verb (not followed by any verb), and helping / auxiliary verb (primary auxiliary verb / capital). Brief explanation is as follows.

Tag Questions

A question tag or tag question (also known as tail question) is a grammatical structure in which a declarative statement or an imperative is turned into a question by adding an interrogative fragment (the "tag"). For example, in the sentence "You're John, aren't you?", the statement "You're John" is turned into a question by the tag "aren't you". The term "question tag" is generally preferred by British grammarians, while their American counterparts prefer "tag question".

Definition Of Subject
The subject of a sentence or clause is the part of the sentence or clause about which something is being said. It is usually the doer of the action. It is a noun or a pronoun. All of the subjects on this page are italicized.
The location of the subject in English is normally located before the verb (verb). In the words of the command (imperative / command), you are considered as the subject says. Subject may be in the form of the word.
Example :
1. I am cooking now.
2. You never walk alone.
3. He makes me angry.
4. She is perfect girl.
5. It is growing up very fast.

Definition Of Verb
a word that characteristically is the grammatical center of a predicate and expresses an act, occurrence, or mode of being, that in various languages is inflected for agreement with the subject, for tense, for voice, for mood, or for aspect, and that typically has rather full descriptive meaning and characterizing quality but is sometimes nearly devoid of these especially when used as an auxiliary or linking verb.
Example :
1. We gathered the party at 7 pm with Stefi yesterday.

Corning Gorillla Glass

Gorilla Glass is the registered trademark for a toughened glass, manufactured by U.S. glassmaker Corning, Inc.
It became highly popular as a cover glass for portable electronic devices such as high-end mobile phones.
The manufacturer claims that Gorilla Glass offers high scratch resistance and incredible hardness, which allows the use of thinner glass panels on devices, without the inherent fragility, which traditionally comes with thinner thickness.
The invention for manufacturing this sort of protective glass had supposedly been gathering dust for quite some years in Corning's warehouse, until Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO back then, commissioned Corning to develop a new scratch proof display cover glass for the first iPhone.
The rise of touchscreen phones popularity since then has turned the manufacturing of Gorilla Glass into a lucrative business niche for Corning.
In 2012, Corning introduced a second generation of the material, called "Gorilla Glass 2" and devices using it started shipping in the first half the same year. According to the manufacturer, the advantages of the second generation include even thinner construction, higher transparency to light and allows for even better touch sensitivity.
Gorilla Glass 3 was announced in 2013 and the popular Samsung Galaxy S4 (released in the first half of the year) is announced as the first phone to feature it.
The new generation is marketed as having Native Damage Resistance™. Marketing talk aside, the new glass reportedly provides enhanced scratch resistance, reduced scratch visibility, and better retained strength once a scratch occurs. According to the manufacturer, the Gorilla Glass 3 is stronger, and is 3x more scratch-resistant than Gorilla Glass 2. Plus some 40% less scratches are visible once they occur.
